Cottonwode II: Poplartowns are popular

For June we're celebrating cottonwood season by admitting that they're just better than other trees. Partly for the place names.

Cottonwood is a lovely name for a town— or for a whatever; here's a map:

And then there’s the Alamos ("cottonwood") and Alamogordos ("big fat cottonwood").

But while populus may be popular it's not populous. They're all tiny.
