Cottonwode: The shimmer

How do I love cottonwoods? Let me count the weeks in June.

Last week I praised the cute wave of a single cottonwood leaf. Hello! Simple and slow. But a whole tree of them is different; it shimmers, all quick-like:

From living north of a lake I can tell you it's much the same sparkle. Not like static because it’s cyclical somehow. And from pre-prom this year I can tell you it's like sequins in sunshine.

True, not quite aspens. But very lovely.
