Easy-Cheesy Geodesy: A mille is a mile

Mile means mille, a thousand paces. As a Midwesterner with DNA laid out in a grid I thought I'd test that, so one night out walking the section roads I counted.

I assumed I'd be way off, but I'll be dunked it was 246, 248.5, 125.5. That's 984, 994, 1004. I'm a Roman legionary! Because of course I counted every fourth left foot. So right off for the rhythm you say ohdy-oh, ohdy-one, twenty-oh.

A gorgeously cool summer night (Protect Our Winters, hell— Protect our summers!)— the purple-pink sunset upstaged by the supermoon up from the hills of Koester Prairie, bright bright gold in the blueblack— then upstaged by the largest legion of fireflies I've ever seen.

Oh I love charts. Cartesian, hell— it’s Artesian, South Dakota.

September was geo rules of thumb. Go buy Yellow More. 2023-07-31-2110 44.3806 -93.0611. I'm 5'11". Artesian's neighborhood has epiphany, melons, ice cream, fedoras, water and the word Woonsocket.
