Professor puzzles: My favorite homophone
Recently we met our old friends the Vierlings for pizza before a Twins game. We had a great time, sitting in the old warehouse district and (among other things) trading puzzles. We had done this back at the South Dakota School of Mines, and now the girls are all grown and Tia, in particular, follows after her father.
So— for this month of summer reading ("summer not"), of waking our brains for school, here are some puzzles for Tia and everyone. These are from a historian to scientists, so they are nonfictional and they span lit-to-STEM. And no Johnny-Whoop-style tricks.
First puzzle: If I started a pizza place, why would I call it Pieforth?
Hints below, answer next week.
