Oleography: Windsnap Apophenia
I live across the street from St. Olaf College and I think of them in May. Last May I proposed a photo there (a circular class photo) that was never shot; this May I have some that were. Oleography. Here's a spooky tree:

The tree's pathology is (apparently) windsnap. Sadly it broke too high for me to use my favorite forestry term, which is surely buttsnap.
Our pathology is apophenia (a great word to Who fans), the imagining of patterns where none exist. In this case a kind of full-body pareidolia (terrible word), which is seeing faces in the landscape. I just call them scapefaces; some time I'll dig out my scapeface collection for you.
Oles are not spooky. This looks like some cartoon I can't put my finger on. Or a roadside advertising "tube man" waving its arms. I await the punk album Shirley Buttsnap. Robert Wellman Campbell, "Oleography: Windsnap Apophenia," RSS Longa, 1 May 2025, public domain via CC0 1.0.
